Same-Day Car Removal in Canterbury — How It Actually Works

What 'Same-Day' Actually Means

'Same-day' gets thrown around by every cash for cars service. Here's what it actually means for us and how to make sure your pickup happens today.

Our Real Same-Day Timeline

• Call before 10am — pickup usually before 2pm
• Call before midday — pickup 2pm–5pm
• Call before 3pm — pickup 4pm–7pm
• Call after 3pm — next morning before 10am

Based on our actual pickup logs across Canterbury.

Why Canterbury Same-Day Works

Our trucks roam Canterbury every day. Routes cover Christchurch to Ashburton south, Sumner east, Riccarton / Sydenham west. Whichever suburb, a truck is usually within 30 minutes.

Pickup Day Process

1. Driver calls 20 minutes before arrival
2. Driver inspects, confirms condition
3. You sign NZTA notice of disposal (we bring it)
4. You receive cash or bank transfer immediately
5. Vehicle loaded and driven away

Whole pickup takes 15–20 minutes.

Access Situations We Handle

• Behind a fence — we tow over kerb
• Flat battery — winches handle it
• Flat tyres — handled
• No keys — small adjustment, still possible
• Steep driveways — tilt-trays handle this
• Apartment complexes — we coordinate

For the full detail on each of these, including gate widths, basement height bars and the equipment involved, read our hard-to-reach scrap car pickup guide.

Why Some Services Don't Deliver

If a service advertises same-day but you get next-week dates, they usually: don't own trucks (sub-contract); have one truck for all of Canterbury; or lowball offers and stall pickup. We own our trucks, run multiple daily across Canterbury, lock in price on quote.
